Nearly 40 attendees boarded a Rochester City Lines luxury charter bus on Thursday, July 21st for the first ever Regional Development Tour.

Partners CEDA (Community Economic Development Associates) and Journey To Growth developed a pilot project tour that visited four communities; Stewartville, Blooming Prairie, Dodge Center and Byron.

The group learned about economic activity, opportunities and interesting facts about each community. Following the tour, a reception was held at Ground Rounds Restaurant for further networking.

Event Sponsor and J2G volunteer, Brian Carlson of Widseth Smith Nolting said, "WSN is pleased to have partnered with CEDA & J2G on this project, and we look forward to continuing our sponsorship and involvement as we plan for upcoming events like this.”

"This was the most creative approach to getting information out on southeastern Minnesota communities I have seen. It was a very unique and worthwhile event," said attendee Joe Weis, Weis Builders.

This collaborative pilot project provided an opportunity for individuals and organizations interested in commercial investment to learn about multiple communities within the southeastern Minnesota region.
Senator Carla Nelson joined the group during the reception, "Congratulations J2G and CEDA leaders on a successful tour of southeast Minnesota jobs and economic growth. Our future is bright!"
