"On the occasion of a control, toxin-forming Escherichia coli were detected in this product," says the message. These germs can harm your health.

Specifically, it is about the batch with the best before date 07/15/2017. Consumers who have bought this French sheep's milk cheese are asked not to eat it and to dispose of the food themselves or to return it to the shop.
Escherichia coli bacteria (short: E. coli) - also called "coli bacteria" - can cause gastrointestinal disorders with watery diarrhea within one week after eating contaminated products, which can be accompanied by abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting.
Infants, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk.
"Consumers who have consumed the above product and are suffering from the symptoms described are asked to consult their doctor immediately and to advise them of the consumption of the product as well as the place of purchase and the date," the message said. (ad)
