Bloated stomach therapy: Anti-fungal diet can also make losing weight much easier

The anti-fungal diet helps you lose weight

Diets aimed at rapid weight loss are usually unsuccessful. On the contrary, those who want to lose weight are often faster at their original weight than they imagined. The so-called Candida diet is more promising here. It focuses on strengthening the sensitive intestinal flora. With this weight loss option, the focus is on avoiding carbohydrate and sugar-containing foods. The aim is to restore a natural balance in the intestine. Lean proteins, low-starch vegetables such as bell peppers, cabbage, carrots, fennel and aubergine, low-sugar fruits such as kiwis, raspberries, strawberries and oranges, high-quality whole grains and healthy fats, which are found in cold-pressed olive oil, walnut oil and linseed oil, are permitted .

Normally there is a natural balance of different bacteria in the intestine. However, the intestine can become out of balance due to many factors of our everyday life. Stress and an unhealthy diet are common triggers for intestinal imbalance, but taking antibiotics can also upset the gut. The possible consequence is an increase in the Candida fungus in the intestine. An overpopulation of this fungus can lead to indigestion, sluggishness, the so-called irritable bowel syndrome and other intestinal diseases. In addition to impaired well-being, flatulence and weight gain are possible consequences of an excess of Candida mushrooms.

What is a Candida Mushroom?

Candida albicans is a fungus from the group of yeasts. In humans, this fungus is often found on the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, in the genital area and in the digestive tract. It is one of the facultative pathogens. That means it can trigger an illness under certain conditions. With normal expression, the colonization by this fungus usually causes little discomfort. However, there are problems when there is overgrowth. The Candida diet is an approach designed to counteract the unbalanced intestinal flora and the resulting increase in the Candida mushroom.

The three components of a candida diet

First, taking probiotic supplements is said to stimulate the growth of bacteria with positive properties for the intestine and thus help to restore the natural balance of the intestinal flora.
Secondly, an antimicrobial substance, a so-called antifungal, is intended to contain fungal growth.
Third, a change in diet should stop candida growth.

The Candida Diet

In the so-called cleansing phase, the body should be prepared for the change in diet. This phase should last for a few days. During this period, the users of the diet may only eat low-sugar fruit types, low-starch vegetables, healthy oils, herbs, spices and organic eggs. The actual diet follows the cleansing phase. Sugar, most carbohydrates and processed foods are removed from the menu. Lean proteins, low-starch vegetables, low-sugar fruits, high-quality whole grains and healthy fats are supposed to replace the carbohydrate and sugar-containing foods. Even though losing weight is not the focus of this diet, you can definitely lose a few pounds through the strong reduction in sugar and carbohydrates.

Studies on the candida diet

Even though the concept already has numerous enthusiastic followers, there is currently no scientific evidence that the diet has positive effects on the body and weight. Experts advise not to carry out the candida diet for too long. Since the nutritional plan is very much reduced, there is a risk of a lack of trace elements and vitamins. There is currently no specific maximum or minimum duration for the implementation of the Candida diet. (fp)
