Cold tea for weight loss is more effective than warm
A recent study shows that cold tea can stimulate fat burning. Other studies had already determined that different types of tea can support weight loss. You can read the individual results in the following article.
Losing weight is often difficult
Sure: If you want to reduce your weight, you have to exercise regularly. However, exercise alone does not help against obesity. Although he burns calories and dispels the constant hunger, the nutrition is more important. Some people try to get rid of extra pounds with the help of various diet programs. But often the belly fat simply does not want to and does not want to disappear. Maybe then you should try drinking tea. Because this can stimulate fat burning and help you lose weight, as researchers have now found.
Healthy tea drinking
Drinking tea can be very healthy. A US study showed that the daily consumption of a cup of black or green tea can reduce the risk of heart attack.
Chinese researchers also found that green tea can protect against obesity.
Swiss researchers have now also found in a study that drinking tea can stimulate fat burning and thus help you lose weight.
Amazingly, when the drink is cold, it is apparently more effective for weight loss.
Cold tea more effective for weight loss
The research team at the University of Freiburg's Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Medicine compared the cardiovascular and metabolic responses of young adults to taking caffeine-containing tea made from yerba mate leaves.
This drink is extremely popular, especially in South America, according to a statement from the university.
Researchers at the Integrative Cardiovascular and Metabolic Physiology Laboratory concluded that cold tea may be more effective in losing weight.
Water helps you lose weight
However, not only does the reduced calorie intake help you lose weight, but by ingesting large amounts of water and unsweetened herbal or fruit teas, the stomach is also filled and the feeling of hunger is avoided, reports the dpa news agency, citing the consumer initiative. In this way, the adjustment of the fluid intake offers support in the loss of excess pounds.
Three degrees cold or 55 degrees warm
The test subjects drank 500 ml of the unsweetened caffeine-containing tea on two different days. This had either a temperature of 3 ° C or 55 ° C and had to be drunk within five minutes.
After taking the tea, various variables were continuously measured for 90 minutes: blood pressure, heart rate, the amount of blood pumped by the heart, and oxygen consumption and fat oxidation.
These data were compared to the values measured half an hour before taking the tea.
Reduction of the metabolic load on the heart
According to the study's authors, Claire Maufrais, Delphine Sarafian, and Prof. Abdul Dulloo and Prof. Jean-Pierre Montani, energy consumption when drinking cold tea (+ 8.3%) increased twice as much as when drinking warm tea ( + 3.7%).
The cold tea also favored fat oxidation and reduced the metabolic load on the heart.
If this observation is confirmed after repeated use of tea, cold tea would be proven to be useful for weight control.
The results of the study supported by the Swiss Heart Foundation were published in the specialist magazine "Frontiers in Physiology". (ad)
