On sale at Lidl: manufacturer calls salami back for plastic foreign bodies

The manufacturer EWG Eberswalder Wurst GmbH has started a product recall for the product "Eberswalder Original Schorfheider Knüppelsalami, 250g". Red plastic foreign bodies could be contained in the sausage. The product should never be consumed.

The manufacturer EWG Eberswalder Wurst GmbH calls back the product "Eberswalder Original Schorfheider Knüppelsalami, 250g" with the date of minimum durability 04.03.2018 and the lot number L10446 in parts of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein. The reason for the recall: "It cannot be ruled out that red plastic foreign bodies are contained in the product concerned", says a customer information.

Never consume the affected product

"Because of the possible risk of injury when consumed, customers should definitely pay attention to the recall and never consume the product," writes the manufacturer.

According to the information, the salami "was sold at Lidl Germany in parts of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein."

The discounter immediately took the affected sausage out of the sale. The product can be returned in all Lidl branches. The purchase price will be reimbursed, even without presentation of the receipt. (ad)
