Eating is the basis of the metabolism

There are many words for food such as food, groceries, meals and meals. What is meant is the vital intake of various substances that serve as the basis for the metabolism and make life possible in the first place. In humans and animals, the food is broken down into its components by mechanical mechanisms (such as chewing) and chemicals (such as stomach acid) and thus made usable.

Components of food

Eating food provides the body with nutrients, minerals, vitamins and water. These are essential for the body to grow and maintain body functions. Nutrients include proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fiber. The group of minerals consists of bulk elements such as calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium as well as trace elements such as iron, fluoride and iodine.
