Belly fat killer: rapeseed oil helps you lose weight
Vegetable oil apparently can even help you lose weight, according to US researchers. For example, if you consumed rapeseed oil in the course of a study, you could reduce your belly fat by a quarter. Rapeseed oil helps to target the harmful belly fat.
Do not restrict fat intake too much
Many people who want to lose weight rely on regular exercise. This is a good thing, because according to studies, sport drives away the constant hunger. In addition, more pounds can be lost by building muscle, which is why experts often recommend special strength training. Diet is even more important when it comes to weight loss. However, it is obviously not advisable to restrict the fat intake too much. On the contrary: vegetable oil can help you lose weight.
Vegetable oils for belly fat
Canadian scientists recently reported that eating high-fat milk regularly makes children leaner because they eat fewer snacks and less unhealthy snacks. A study by American researchers has now shown that you don't have to do without fat if you want to lose weight. They report in the journal Obesity that vegetable oils can help reduce body fat.
Rapeseed oil reduces health risks
"Belly fat increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and is also associated with an increased risk of metabolic syndrome and diabetes," study author Penny M. Kris-Etherton of Pennsylvania State University said in a report in the journal "Eurek Alert ! ". "Simple unsaturated fats in rapeseed oil reduce this fat, which has adverse health effects."
As part of their study, the team of scientists examined the effects of eating certain vegetable oils on 101 subjects who were overweight. The participants, who were divided into several groups, received two smoothies every day, mixed with corn, linseed, or three different types of rapeseed oil.
Unsaturated fatty acids target belly fat
It was found that those who had consumed rapeseed oil lost a quarter of a pound of belly fat after a month and that the weight was not distributed anywhere else on the body, such as the hips or the buttocks.
"The general rule is that you can't lose weight in specific areas of your body," says Kris-Etherton. "But simple unsaturated fatty acids seem to target belly fat in particular."
More popular than sunflower and olive oil
The benefits of rapeseed oil have also been found in other studies. According to German scientists, it is even better than olive oil for some people. For example, researchers from the German Institute for Nutritional Research (DIfE) in Potsdam-Rehbrücke have found that rapeseed oil can improve cholesterol and liver values even more.
In addition, pediatricians have been pointing out for a long time that rapeseed oil is ideal for baby porridge, as it contains a high proportion of fat-soluble vitamins and valuable omega-3 fatty acids.
According to the consumer information service aid, rapeseed oil is now sold more than sunflower and olive oil. (ad)
