Recall for liver sausages

The meat product factory Albert Schiller KG is recalling the product "Schiller Leberwürstchen fresh" (individual weight approx. 150 g), which was sold in the period from January 29, 2018 to February 2, 2018 via service counters at certain Edeka branches in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Saxony. "The reason for the precautionary product recall is that a red plastic part about 5 mm wide and 7 mm long was found in one of the sausages concerned," the company wrote in a message.

Goods were taken out of sale after the foreign body was found

A list of the branches concerned can be found in the communication published by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety on its portal "".

"Although it is a single find, it cannot be ruled out that there are other foreign bodies in the product," it says.

According to the information, the affected product was taken out of sale immediately after the discovery of the foreign body was discovered and the consumers were informed about it by notices in the branches.

It is not recommended to consume the affected product

"Consumers who bought the product in question from January 29, 2018 to February 2, 2018 are advised against eating the product," warns the meat product manufacturer.

Other products from Albert Schiller KG or other batches of the product that were not sold in the branches mentioned are not affected.

“Customers who bought the product can return it in the respective markets and receive a refund of the purchase price”, even without presenting the receipt. (ad)
