DKV - a private health insurance company

Deutsche Krankenversicherung Aktiengesellschaft (DKV) is one of the largest private health insurers in Germany and Europe. After the DKV was founded in Berlin in 1927, the DKV moved its headquarters to Cologne in 1954. Since 1998 the DKV has been part of the ERGO Group, which also includes the D.A.S. Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG, Ergo Versicherung AG and Europäische Reiseversicherung AG. In 2010 DKV took over Victoria Health Insurance, which secured the company a market leader position. The DKV repertoire ranges from private full insurance to outpatient and inpatient supplementary insurance, dental insurance, supplementary nursing care insurance to foreign health insurance. (vb)
